  4. Thanks to Kim for introducing me to this website. I will be back to read the stories and updates and truly enjoy the inspiration they provide to women. I plan to attend the upcoming event and look forward to meeting other moms like myself!

  5. Would love some women golfers to participate in the following:
South Fayette Foundation for Excellence is an independent non-profit 501(c)3 organization raising funds for student scholarships and teacher grants in the South Fayette School District.
The SFFE is holding its 1st Annual Golf Classic on Friday, July 13 at Southpointe Golf Club, Canonsburg.
The fee is $125 per golfer which includes an 18-hole scramble, riding cart, breakfast, luncheon, prizes, auction and various awards. Skill prize opportunities include hole-in-one prizes that include three $5000 awards and a car from Colussy Chevrolet. A variety of sponsorship opportunities also exist. Call 724-693-3047 for more information or to register to golf.

  7. I am reaching out to the Wise Women community because I am a Public Health Nurse with the Allegheny County Health Department’s Chronic Disease Prevention Program. I am working under a cancer awareness grant from the PA Department of Health , which supports FREE programming on colorectal cancer and ovarian cancer. The presentations, which give an overview of each particular cancer, its risk factors, signs and symptoms, prevention strategies and remarks about treatments options are geared to lay audiences. Some of the organizations in the Wise Woman network be willing to have me as a speaker on ovarian cancer. Moreover, I am working in collaboration with the local chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC). They have ovarian cancer survivors who are willing to speak about their experiences after my overview of ovarian cancer. Furthermore, they have information about resources and support that they can offer to women facing ovarian cancer. Unfortunately, the funding for the program that makes it possible for me to give cancer talks in the community is being terminated June 30, a year early due to funding cuts on the state and federal level. So if there is any possibility that you might be interested, please contact me soon. Thanks so much for your consideration. Be well. Lorraine Starsky
