Kathy Gillen, Wellness Guidance

Who is this Wise Woman?

Wellness matters...

Kathy Gillen is a wife, mom of four, active community participant, and small business owner who is passionate about wellness.

What is her business?

Kathy owns Wellness Roadtrip, a wellness guidance business she founded several years ago.  She writes a fun and informative blog, offers individual wellness counseling, speaks to groups, and offers classes, all with the goal promoting a healthier, happier way of being.

What makes it special?

Kathy makes wellness fun and understandable.  She is smart, funny and compassionate.  She tailors her programs to what you need, be ye a junk-food addicted teen, a corporate wellness group, a PTA program, or someone in search of motivation and guidance.

She is worthy of the “Gotta Good” Guide because….?

Kathy doesn’t lecture, tell you to eat right, or shame you into exercise.  She is a master at making you look at things a different way and truly ‘geting’ why and how wellness matters.

Want proof?

Just read this story on sugar  click here. Did you ever think about it this way before?!

In her own words...

“Power naps should not be thought of as indulgent.” (editor’s note: okay, how could you not love this woman?!)

Other stuff you should know

Kathy has built up a wealth of expertise and knowledge about wellness and cellular function, partly motivated by the birth of a daughter with a metabolic mitochondrial disease.  None of the cells in her daughter’s body metabolize food properly and at birth she was given a two year life expectancy.  Ten years of flax seed oil and tofu/kale smoothies later, Kathy’s daughter has never been hospitalized or suffered serious illness.  In Kathy’s words Merritt is “highly disabled, but very healthy.”

Kathy Gillen is a talented writer and has written many articles for Wise Women, including my favorite, the one about the restorative power of napping – click here.

The Wise Women Gotta Good? Resource Guide is a paid guide, but we only “invite” participants to join who have somehow been recommended through the Wise Women community.  Our rates are super low because one of our goals is to support small businesses and independent service providers.

Tell us about a business you like, why you recommend it, and how we can contact them.  If they decide to join the Wise Women Gotta Good? Resource Guide it becomes a win/win situation:

  • Wise Women readers get access to a quality business they may not have known about.
  • The business gets exposure to over 1200 (and growing!) Wise Women in the South Hills.
  • Wise Women gets support to continue its mission of Possip* in the South Hills.

Send us an email at Contact@wisewomenlife.com

*’Possip’ is the opposite of gossip.  It is positive talk that builds up, inspires, and supports women in pursuing their dreams.
